Samsung Warranty
Anybody had any joy with these cunts.

Fridge has packed up on side by side fridge freezer, just had over 2 years, has a 5 year warranty.

Samsung were very reluctant to send an engineer. But eventually arranged one through a third party

They were supposed to come yesterday, gave us a tracking email with a graphic of a van doing all it's stops.. Got to us then nothing.

The wife has called them this morning and they've said the engineer called her yesterday at 3.30pm..and she told him it was fixed now.

So our job is closed.. Googled reviews about them, nearly everyone saying the same, not turned up. Lied about phone calls.

I can only assume this is driven by Samsung as what would be in it for them and surely they would lose the contract

They've eventually agreed to come back tomorrow, no apology. Said they have no idea why the engineer would say that.

Yes I've tried wiping my knob on it.

Re: Samsung Warranty
I usually assume that most manufacturers have no interest in servicing or repairing their goods, so they farm the whole thing out to a third party to keep their focus on their new items.

Whilst I am sure they are happy if the third party company does a good job, I get the sense that most are so focused on shifting new units, that if they lose a few customers from poor follow-up by the third party, then so be it. 😒

Re: Samsung Warranty
But this third party company has an appalling reputation of just not turning up and lying, so how do they stay in business?

Will have to see what happens tomorrow.

Bought an LG TV the other day; nothing worng with it but they force you to register to 'activate' the warranty. Its basically a ruse to harvest your data and hard sell you an extended warranty. Ive had emails, phone calls and post from these pricks now

Hermit Road 2:59 Thu Jul 14
Re: Samsung Warranty
I could be wrong but I think your receipt is your warranty and you don’t have to register to activate it. The warranty is a legal requirement that is part of the sale and is activated by you giving them your money in exchange for the goods.

Par for the course these days.

I had a painter give me a quote for some work, shook my hand and arranged a date, Didn't turn up.

Had a new roof which I have an issue with, emailed, phoned. Over 2 months now and still hasn't visited to assess and correct. Got my money. Prick!

Re: Samsung Warranty
So many take the piss. Had to get a new shower from Mira. Engineer refused to install it as previous plumber had apparently used a resin to seal the internal pipes. To be fair they discounted the shower but I had to get a plumber to fit it. Made a whining noise when you turned full on within weeks but Mira wouldn't do anything because it wasn't their engineer who installed it! Have a workaround now where you turn on only a little then slowly to full power. Now though 13 months in, so one month out of warranty it has a high pitched drone. Do I go back to Mira or the plumber? Pain in the arse.

AS this seems to be the "Whine about products & services" thread, had the lamp on my Air Frier blow the other day only for Tower to since inform me that it's not a replaceable part.

How the fuck can a light bulb be not replaceable?

Re: Samsung Warranty
None of my staff - valet, butler, maid or chauffeur can change it either, because it's designed that way according to the people that concieved, built and sold the fucking thing.

How very fucking "green" of them as - apart from the lamp, examples of which are available to buy online - everything else is fine but I've now got to add to the world's rubbish mountain by dumping it so that TOWER can save a few pence.

No, not really, although I do try to get my 'white goods' if we are still allowed to say that, from somewhere like John Lewis as they tend to stock the consistent brands and have their cover on things and don't seem to step away from a problem if their name is associated with it.

That might have changed since covid etc.....

Mike Oxsaw 5:08 Thu Jul 14
Re: Samsung Warranty
It wasn't cheap.

Well, OK, for me it was, but for the likes of you I doubt it.

In any case, poor design, whatever the relative cost, is adding to the rubbish on the planet - and your posts already seem to have cornered that market, in Spades.

Samsung need to send an engineer to wipe his knob on you, they’ve made it so that the old methods don’t work. Welcome to 2022
